JibJab

The kids had a little fun watching a video about my granddaughter dancing that my daughter-in-law had made. Here is the site so that you can make fun movies using your own photos on them.

Fun Website for Hurricanes and More!

http://www.askforkids.com/ This is a great site for basic research. I typed in hurricanes and it brought up links to good sites (some that I have listed on a previous post).

I have surfed around on this site and haven't found anything bad...but that doesn't mean that it isn't there. Please supervise your kids always while they are on the internet. And, if I may be so bold, please make sure that your internet is in a common area of the house. Don't allow your kids to have their own computers and internet in their own rooms. Safety first!

Hurricane Websites

This chapter is about hurricanes. We thought it would be fun for you to have some "extra learning" about weather. Here is the link to Weather Channel.
http://www.weather.com/ From here, go down to the bottom of the page to the links. Weather News is on the left hand side, the second group down. Go down to "Hurricane Central" and click. Once there, click on the videos. These are so exciting!
Also, you can go to
http://www.theweatherchannelkids.com/weather_center/ . This doesn't talk specifically about huricanes, but is a good site for basic weather knowledge.

http://www.fema.gov/kids/ This has alot of learning games on it.

Happy viewing!!!

10 Hours of Sleep a Night

Mrs. Robinson gave me this article and I will be talking about it in class during the next few weeks, but I really feel that you as parents should read it also. Translate the page into Spanish if you need to though, as it is well worth the time. It is titled, "Kids Who Skimp on Sleep Tend to Be Fatter".
